Cant install USB midi driver for Yamaha?

Whenever I try install the midi driver for my yamaha it comes up

Try these steps...

Installing the Yamaha USB MIDI Driver in Windows XP
Preliminary Steps:
1. With the computer turned OFF, make sure that the MIDI instrument is already
turned ON, plugged into the USB MIDI interface cable, and that the other end is
not yet plugged into the computer USB port.
NOTE: It is highly recommended to unplug any other USB devices from the
computer, and then plug them back in after the USB MIDI driver has been
successfully installed.
2. Turn the computer ON.
Removal of old Driver:
If an older USB MIDI driver (such as the one for Windows 98. has previously
been installed into Windows XP, it should be removed before installing the
Yamaha USB MIDI driver for 'Windows XP'.
NOTE: The following steps are only necessary if an older USB MIDI driver has
previously been installed. If this has not been installed, proceed to the next
section, 'Downloading the Yamaha USB MIDI Driver for Windows XP'.
1. Connect the Yamaha USB MIDI interface (or cable. to the computer USB port.
2. Click the 'START' menu at the bottom left corner of the Windows XP Desktop.
3. Click on 'Control Panel'.
4. If 'Switch to Classic View' appears on the left side of the Control Panel
window, click on it. If not, proceed to step 5.
5. Double-click the 'System' icon.
6. Click the 'Hardware' tab.
7. Click the button.
8. Select the 'View' menu from the menu bar.
9. Select 'Devices by type'.
10. Under 'Sound, video and game controllers', there should be a list of drivers. If
'Yamaha USB MIDI Driver' is in the list, remove it by right-clicking on it and
selecting 'UNINSTALL'.
11. Turn OFF the computer.
12. Unplug the Yamaha USB MIDI interface (or cable. from the computer USB
port.
13. Turn the computer back ON.
Downloading the Yamaha USB MIDI Driver for Windows XP:
1. Go to www.yamaha.com on the Internet.
2. Click on 'U.S.A.' under the heading 'Musical Instruments and Professional
Audio Products'.
3. Click on 'Service/Support'.
4. Click on 'Search'.
5. Under the heading, 'Enter a Keyword or Model Number', type "Generic USB."
6. Click the button.
7. Click on the link for 'Generic USB Driver' for Win XP/2000.
8. Click the button.
9. Browse to the Windows XP Desktop on the computer.
10. Click the button.
11. Go to the Windows XP Desktop and click on the 'USB XP 2000' icon.
12. Browse to a desired folder (to save the driver files into. .
13. Click the button.
14. Click the button.
15. Close the 'WinZip Self-Extractor' window.
Preliminary Windows XP Settings:
1. Click the 'START' menu at the bottom left corner of the Windows XP Desktop.
2. Click on 'Control Panel'.

4. Double-click the 'System' icon.

8. Click the button.
9. Click the 'Advanced' tab.
10. Click the button in the 'Performance' section.
11. Click the 'Advanced' tab in the 'Performance Options' window.
12. Click the radio button to the left of 'Background services'.
13. Click the button.
14. Click the button again.
Installing the Yamaha USB MIDI Driver for Windows XP:
1. Connect the Yamaha USB MIDI interface (or cable. to the computer USB port.
The computer screen automatically displays the 'Welcome to the Found New
Hardware Wizard' screen.
NOTE: On some older computers, the USB port may need to be 'enabled' in the
computer BIOS settings. If the 'New Hardware Wizard' screen does not appear,
contact the computer manufacturer for steps required to enable the USB port in
the BIOS.
2. Click the radio button to the left of 'Install from a list or specific
location'.
3. Click the button.
4. Click the radio button to the left of 'Search for the best driver in these
locations'.
5. Check the box to the left of 'Include this location in the search:'.
6. Browse to the folder where the USB driver files were stored.
7. Click the button. The wizard installs the software.
8. Once the installation has completed, click the button.
9. After a few seconds, the 'System Settings Change' screen is displayed. Eject
any floppy disks, if necessary, and click the button to restart the computer.
Selecting the USB Port for the MIDI Music Playback Device:
1. Click the 'START' menu at the bottom left corner of the Windows XP Desktop.
2. Click on 'Control Panel'.
3. If 'Switch to Classic View' appears on the left side of the Control Panel

Home Recording Setup Question?

Hi there guys, I'm hoping to start recording some of my music, and I do not know where to start. I intend to any recording in my computer with an interface in a way, as Line 6 Pod Studio. What are my best options in terms of speed and software? I have a decent computer, 4GB RAM, Core 2 Duo, not a bad sound card. Registration will mainly metal and some jazz too, for the guitar. Thank you, I advance!

cheapest solution is Audacity (multitrack recorder free. Only one track at a time though) and a line output / headphone amplifier to your PC directy your line in. There is getting more expensive from there. I am using Pro Tools package coming from there a version (Pro Tools M-Powered) with an M-Audio. The cost of installing all about $ 250. I added a Line 6 Gearbox. I like it because the software can be used as a Pro Tools plugin. I can record the guitar signal dry then apply amp models and effects of the track. Nice if I get a good line, but to decide that I wanted a little more gain, more reverb, less bass, etc. .. Your PC will handle most of the suites and recording. Your sound card will not matter a lot, like most interfaces will use their own recording equipment or MIDI control. Make sure your USB or Firewire interfaces are stable, well. This is where you'll generally the link between these interfaces and if they are buggy, you'll spend more time recording troubleshooting. Whatever software you use (Audacity, Pro Tools, Cubase) Get a book dummies to go with it. Once you get comfortable, get a manual or more in-depth guide to learning help you discover more potential. If you record multiple instruments at once, looking for an interface / mixer that allows you to save several tracks simultaneously. It will reduce the cost of a lot, but try to control multiple instruments in a single track is a very limited and difficult to try to control the sound.

I made a couple of fx custom audio in Sonar Cakewalk and the computer they are logged on all goes to hell and I'm starting a new one. I want to transfer my custom presets audio effect with my old computer to my new computer. Where can I find them? I have windows XP and I'm running Cakewalk 8.

So, my Marshall JCM 900 100W Hi Gain Dual Reverb Tube Amp battery half burst. What happens is that I turned the STANDBY power and at the same time all the time and one day off and close it immediately, and now it does not turn back. Its been broken for several months. Then if someone Please tell me how to fix it or where to fix it, and how much it would roughly cost. Thank you.

I doubt that turning on both switches at the same time caused your problem. The standby mode allows the power tubes idling, but otherwise be ready to go, because they remain heated when the switch is left on. Try replacing the fuse (s) first. Make sure the replacement is the exact type and rating of each. Do not be tempted to use the wrong size or wrap in foil. There job is to limit damage to circuits if a tube wear or something else goes wrong. If the replacement fuse also blows, stop. Ampere require the services of someone who is familiar with tube amps and has good. Most of your test equipment likely you'll need new power tubes and possibly a bias voltage / current adjustment rest, if your amp has one. Other failures I have seen including feeding problems, and decision-tubes and output transformers that produced arcing and shorter when the amp has been run without a speaker and power has no place else to go. Your Cost repair could be anywhere on the cost of a fuse few to a few hundred dollars if there was a major crisis. Don

How do I get a better Bass(Kick) Drum sound?

I can't help feel my bass(kick) drum sounds like cr*p. It resonates way too much, and its not a deep quick sound as it should be. How can I fix this? I have a pillow in the case, and there is no hole on the outside-facing head. Any tips?

First, you should know that the bass drum sound that you hear on recordings and at concerts has been changed by the microphones and the EQ settings that they use on the soundboard, the bass drum is actually resonating more than what you can hear. If the bass drum doesn't resonate, it will be way too quiet.

I used a pillow when I first started playing drums about 10 years ago, but that is something that I shouldn't have done. It makes the bass sound really dead. Now I use the Evans EMAD 2 bass batter. It has a built in foam ring that gets rid of the higher pitched sounds and keeps the bass drum from resonating too much.

On the resonant head, I take a strip of felt that is a few inches wide and place it several inches off center across the opening of the shell then place the head over it. Then pull the felt strip so that it is not loose underneath the head and then tune the head. Finally, cut the excess felt off.

You could even put another strip of felt to the other side of the center to add more muffling. If you don't buy the EMAD 2 head, You can use 1 or 2 felt strips on the batter head as well. Experiment with the placement and width of the felt strips till you find a sound that you like.

Also make sure that the head is tightend evenly at each lug. Tap the head with a stick near each lug and tighten or loosen that lug until the pitch is about the same at each place that you hit with your stick.
